Abstract :
Gold(I) catalysed hydration of alkynes with water proceeds in ionic liquid media (1-butyl-3-
methylimidazolium hexafluorophosphate). The catalyst/ionic liquid mixture could be recycled
after separation of the product by extraction with hexane.
